At Kettle Mag the editors remain hidden away in Kettle towers occupying themselves with ideas, proofing, tweeting and keeping their ears tuned to the latest news. But what do we really know about these creatures? Here at frivolity over the coming weeks we intend to find out…and this week hitting the right notes is Music editor, Lorna Holland.
My parents don’t know this about me but…
Actually I think my parents know virtually everything about me, we’re pretty close.
When someone says the word ‘kettle’ what springs to mind?
A cup of tea!
How long after you wake up do you check your phone?
Immediately, it’s usually the first thing I do.
Stranded on a desert island you wouldn’t be without…
I really hate this question.. If a boat is out of the question then I guess my Kindle. At least then I’d have something to do to pass the time!
What is the most revolting food you’ve ever eaten?
Stilton. Or maybe Jerusalem artichoke.
(Who couldn’t love this?? Ed.)
Name all the members of One Direction… (NO GOOGLING)
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and formerly Zayn Malik. I think that’s right? (I wouldn’t know! Ed.)
Which musician would you most like to interview and why?
Tom Fletcher (from Mcfly) hands down.
Really not sure how to feel about this news that McBusted are splitting up and Busted are reforming.. #conflicted

If you couldn’t edit the Music section for Kettle, which section would you choose?
Probably books. Music and books are my two biggest interests.

My boyfriend Edd.
Wine or beer?
Cat or dog?
Football or rugby?
American football. I’m a Chicago Bears fan.
That moment when you’re being judged at the station for being a Bears fan. By Dolphins fans, no less #KingdomsUnite

Android or iphone?
Classical or pop?
I’d have to say pop, but there are some classical pieces I really love too.
Apart from writing, what other creative talents do you have?
I’m pretty musical – I play the oboe and the drums, which are possibly two of the most contrasting instruments to play! I’m also fairly artistic.
If you were a punctuation mark, what would you be?
A semi-colon. Often overlooked, but makes the sentence 10 times better when used correctly.
What is your most unappealing habit?
I’m really indecisive.
What would you like to be remembered for?
My writing. I’m sure that’s a popular answer but I’d love to write stories that people love to read.
Have you ever volunteered for anything?
I’m very good at volunteering myself for things I don’t have time to do. But apart from that, I’ve done voluntary work at my local library and I also did vote counting for a local election a few years ago.
Who so far, family or otherwise has influenced you in your life?
I think everyone you know influences you to some degree.
Which emoji do you use most frequently?
What was the last song you listened to on your ipod/phone?
‘Britney’ by Busted.
What was the last thing you googled?(IT had better not be 1D ;))
“Who’s in One Direction?”
It’s actually, “what is the closest tube station to Wembley Stadium?”
What is your most over used word or expression?
What keeps you awake at night?
My inability to switch my brain off when I want to sleep.
I’m 21 years old. I’m old enough to deal with the fact that there might be a spider in my bed. If I say it enough times I might believe it..
