Winter is officially here and with the change in weather, our hair can suffer from the cold, wind and rain – not to mention air pollution. So what better than treating your hair to some therapy? This is especially great for hair which has to withstand a lot of heat damage or styling and constant product usage.

This is a really basic deep conditioning recipe for your hair and it's great due to the low cost. It’s all natural, so there are no harsh chemicals that are going to dry out your hair or over-process it. It’s also a great alternative for any vegans out there or anyone would prefer to steer away from brands that test on animals.

Benefits of this process for your hair:

1) Great for helping detangle your hair.

2) Helps to put moisture back into dry and/or damaged hair.

3) Doesn’t strip your hair of natural nutrients or leave excess build up after washing.

The Avocado Deep Treatment Mask:

You’ll need to grab yourself any one of the following oils – coconut oil, almond oil, argan oil or carrot oil.

  • 1 to 2 avocados (depending on the thickness and length of your hair)
  • A spoon
  •  A bowl
  • A microwave
  • A mug

Step one: Take your avocados and slice them all the way through the middle.

Step two: Spoon out the seed from the avocado and scoop it into a bowl.

Step three: Next pour ¼ of the your chosen oil into a small mug.

Step four: Add this oil into the bowl with your avocado and mash it all up into as smooth a paste as possible.

Step five: Simply put the bowl into the microwave for 30 seconds and you’re done! Mix it until smooth and apply to your hair as you would with your usual conditioner.
