A strong desire to pack your suitcase and get the first flight to anywhere around the world can be tempting and everyone's travel list can be full of some great countries they wish to travel too. Our Travel feature, "Around the World", gives us a glimpse into the places and countries our editors here at Kettle travelled too. This week, we have a look at the places our Festival Editor Laura Brown has been too.

What countries have you been to so far?

Ireland, Canada, America, Holland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Egypt

What is your preferred choice of transport? (Train, aeroplane, ferry, car…)

Aeroplane – those mountain views are something else.

Would you prefer a winter or a summer vacation?

As long as there isn't rain then I'm probably okay with it. I've never done a proper winter snowy holiday and I'd absolutely want to expereince that.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Everywhere, well nearly. America & Canada are places I'd like to revist as I only saw so little of them. Australia, New Zealand and Iceland are pretty high on the list. There is just so much of the world to see and experience and things that you don't get to see in your every day life.

What is your favourite or worst moment whilst on holiday?

I'll go favourite. Watching an ice hockey match in Canada, cycling the streets of Amsterdam, being on a mountain in a thunderstorm in Switzerland, cycling the Golden Gate Bridge, Disneyland Paris.

What is the worst country to visit and why?

For me, Egypt. I went before the troubles they have now and whilst I had a great time with friends it is the place I took the most negatives from. The unbearable heat, the resort style (which isn't something I look for) and the male/female divide they have to me often felt uncomfortable and kept you on edge.

When do you think is the right time to go on holiday?

Whenever you can. If you have the time and money; go.

How long do you go tend to go on holiday for?

It depends on location. A summer beach holiday; 7-10 days. A city break; 2-4 days.

What activities do you like to do whilst on holiday? (Sunbathe, hiking, surfing..)

If it's a beach/sun holiday, then I like the lazing in the sun – but I can't do it all the time. I get very bored and restless and feel like I'm not really getting to see the area. I like to explore the local touristy sights but also check out things slightly off the beaten track.

What countries are you planning to visit in the future?

As much of the world as possible.
