Each month here at Kettle we’ll be giving you a look into our own make-up bags must haves and tips for staying on top of your beauty routine at a manageable price. If you want to share your key looks/shades/products for July, get in touch to beauty@kettlemag.co.uk – Beauty Editor, Renate O’Connor

The first thing to put into your beauty box is…

The Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask is perfect for keeping your hair hydrated now the weather is getting warmer. Although the sun can give your hair a lovely glow, it tends to dry out my locks too. Available from most retailers at just £0.99 you really can’t go wrong for keeping your mane silky smooth.

To keep my skin hydrated I use Nivea’s Moisturising After Sun all year round, which I swear by. It smells divine as most after sun lotion’s do and isn’t sticky which I hate about some creams. I love to put this on just before I go to bed and wake up with smooth skin. As we’re now in the summer months, it will also help reduce peeling, flaking and maintaining your tan. £5.00 for 200ml goes a long way.

I always carry around a spare body spray or small bottle of perfume in my hand bag to freshen up during the warmer months. I’ve swapped my usual Miss Dior Eau De Parfum for Hollister’s Paradise Beach Body Mist, which is so fruity and reminds me of being on the beach after just one spray – it lasts ages and is available for around £11/£12.

Finally, it’s time to ditch those dark brown and red lipsticks and swap them for something more summer-friendly. My favourite this month, is No7’s Dusky pink. This shade will spice up every outfit this season without being too in-your-face. If you’re a fan of a sheer/medium coverage this is a must-have. Boots sell a huge range of the No7 range at £9.95 per lipstick.

So there they are – my June beauty essentials. What are you swearing by this month? Let me know in the comments below.
